When was the last time you enjoyed a relaxing bath in your bathtub?
Let’s face it, we love the idea of having a tub, we dream about the day we’re going to get from work and prepare ourselves a nice, hot and relaxing bath where we can soak for hours to light of our favorite scented candles and relaxing music but the idea, as appealing as it sounds, it’s quite far from the truth.
Job, house, kids, friends, pets, family and a bunch of other things that keep us busy always seem to get in the way of enjoying a time for ourselves.
Health is not only taking your pills or going to the doctor, health is taking care of yourself physically, mentally and emotionally, and what better way to take care of you than with a relaxing bath!?
Here, you’ll find some DIY recipes that will help you enjoy your “me” time!

Lavender Soak
Lavender is widely known for its calming properties, it’s antidepressant, antiseptic, wound healing and analgesic. It’s commonly used to cure insomnia, migraines, anxiety and relieves muscle stiffness.
What you need:
3 TBS of dried lavender flowers
1 ½ cups of whole milk
⅓ cup of honey
Blend the flowers until they become a powder, whisk all ingredients together and pour the mixture in a container. Shake well and pour half the mixture into the tub.
Rosemary Bath Salts
Rosemary is a very fragrant evergreen herb that’s usually used as a culinary condiment, but it also has many health benefits, it improves digestion, enhances concentration, improves blood circulation and recent studies show that it has antiproliferative effects on cancer cells.
What you need:
2 tbs baking soda
2 cups epsom salt
2 drops of green food coloring
4 drops of essential Rosemary oil
Mix salt and baking soda in a bowl. Add the essential oils and the food coloring until the color is even and store them in a jar. When you’re ready to take your bath just pour a couple of tablespoons in your tub while it fills and enjoy the fresh and relaxing scent of rosemary!
Vanilla Sugar Scrub
Vanilla is one of the most popular flavoring and aromatic plants. Its health benefits go from preventing dental caries to treat dysmenorrhea and fevers, and if that were not enough, vanilla is known for its aphrodisiac effects!
What you need:
2 cups turbinado sugar
1 cup of coconut oil
8 drops of lemon essential oil
8 drops of vanilla essential oil
Mix sugar and coconut oil in a bowl until you get an even and smooth texture. Add the essential oils, stir and add more drops of essential oils until you get the smell you like.
